Abstract

Job satisfaction is an essential element needed to achieve the goal of education: to produce high-quality graduates who have global competence. Thejob satisfaction shown by the teachers in this research was far from the expectation, despite the fact that teachers who get job satisfaction make their best effort for the affiliated educational institution as well as their students. Based on the aforementioned background, this research aimed to increase teachers' job satisfaction by examining the relationship of job satisfaction with other variables, namely transformational leadership, organizational behavior and personality. This research is a mixed-method research with quantitative analysis, which uses correlational statistics to determine if transformational leadership, organizational behavior and personality are positively associated with teachers' job satisfaction. SITOREM method was used to determine the order of priorities and recommendations of what can be done to improve the condition. This research, involving 220 high school teachers working at an A-accredited private high schools located in Tangerang, Banten Province, showed that all the aforementioned variables were positively correlated. Thefollowing order,from the strongest to the weakest, shows the correlation; personality: r/2=0,567 (p<O,OI), transformational leadership: ryJ=0,434 (p<O,OI) and organizational behavior: ry3=0,319 (p<O,OI). In accordance to the quantitative analysis, job satisfaction increased through positive personality traits, application of transformational leadership by the leader and ideal organizational behavior. The result of SITOREM analysis showed that the components of job satisfaction, organizational culture, transformational leadership and teachers personality which needed improvement include: (1) The drive to innovate, (2) Organizational habit patterns, (3) Emotional stability, (4) Intellectual stimulating behavior. Two of these indicators were followed up with workshop activities. The results of the workshop were quite satisfying because the participants had a better understanding and were motivated to innovate 94.4% and improve organizational habits by 91.4%. Suggestions that can be conveyed are that managers and organizers can pay attention to teacher job satisfaction and continue to increase opportunities for teachers to innovate, intelectual stimulation.
