Abstract Sweet potato disease in general, many people do not know what disease is being attacked in their sweet potato plants. Many diseases that arise from leaves, stems and yams are caused by larvae, insects or fungi that can cause disease and rot in yams. Build an intelligent system (computer) to analyze problems, observe the work system of an expert or expert. Expertise comes from developing the knowledge of someone who is competent and immediately provides solutions to solve a disease problem. Therefore, we need a knowledge-based system in the form of ontology of sweet potato plant disease symptoms and using the Bayes method to get an accurate value on the ontology. The aim is to assist farmers in diagnosing sweet potato plant diseases on a website-based basis. Key words: Diagnosis, Sweet Potato Plant Disease, Ontology and Bayes
