Abstract

The mosquitoes present often feels distrub human life, from the bites wich causes itch to as dangerous vectors (transmitters) for human diseases such as dengue fever or dengue hemorrhagig fever (DHF). Several attempts has tryed to handle it, such as by controlling the vector of Aedes aegypti. One way of attempt is used a mosquitos repellent. The mosquitos repellent can be derived from a plant wich has essential oil, one op plants is clove (Syzgium aromaticum L) The aims of this research is to find the concentration of clove leaf oils, as rights repellent aegypty. The concentrates Clove oil were tested are 1.25%, 2.5%, 5% and 10% in solution VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil). The testing is using panelists arms in the test cage effectiveness. First the right arm is a control does not spread with clove oil, but give the left arm some cloves oil from the fingertips to the elbow. Second insert the right arm into a cage that already contain mosquitos. The number of mosquitoes that landed counted, the count is off by fault-finding in considered one repetition, the repetition does at 10 times. The result of analyze by used SAS 6.12 showed that the concentration of 10% and 5%, significantly different from the concentration of 2.5% and 1.25%, but when compared with controls has significantly different effects (P < 0.05) mean number of mosquitoes that landed on all concentration less than control.
