Abstract

ABSTRACT Soil provides nutrients as plant nutrients for growth. Soil quality is determined by collecting selected indicator data or Minimum Data Sets (MDS) which are divided based on the chemical and biological properties of the soil. Changes in soil quality can occur by several factors, one of which is mining activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the soil contained in the Pongkor gold mine in the Mount Pongkor area in the Mount Halimun-Salak National Park area, Bogor Regency, West Java as a planting medium for jasmine plants (Jasminum sambac Sol.) Conducted using chemical testing methods that include pH, N, P, K, and Hg levels, while biological testing includes measurements of the amount of nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Soil testing is done by planting jasmine (Jasminum sambac Sol.) On three growing media, namely 100% composite soil, 50% composite + 50% compost, and 100% compost. The results of research on composite soil testing around the Pongkor gold mining based on chemical testing and biological testing show that the levels of mercury composite soil are low or do not exceed the threshold so that it is still good and can be used as a planting medium. Keywords: Composite, Soil quality parameters, Growing media
