COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE PREFERENCE RANKING ORGANIZATION METHOD FOR ENRICHMENT EVALUATION (PROMETHEE) AND TECHNIQUE FOR ORDER PREFERENCE BY SIMILARITY TO IDEAL SOLUTION (TOPSIS) IN RANKING THE BEST STUDENTS Putri Fauziah Awaliyah Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Pakuan University, Bogor, West Java, 16143, Indonesia Abstract One indicator of educational success is the presence of outstanding students. The selection of the best students is an important process conducted to provide recognition and motivation to students. The selection of the best students at SMK Teknologi Informasi Bumi Putra is still carried out using a conventional model. The application of the conventional model in selecting the best students at the school requires a long processing time and still has errors in determining the best students due to human resource errors (human error) in managing it. A Decision Support System is the right solution to be applied in selecting the best students with methods that can produce fast and accurate decisions. This study compares the PROMETHEE and TOPSIS methods for selecting the best students using data from 2016 to 2023, totaling 476 students and using five criteria, namely vocational grades, extracurricular grades, attendance grades, as well as spiritual and social grades. Based on the accuracy results of the best student ranking model, the TOPSIS algorithm achieved an accuracy of 80%, while PROMETHEE had an accuracy of 30%. Thus, it can be concluded that the TOPSIS method is a more optimal method compared to the PROMETHEE method for ranking the best students. Keywords: comparison, best student selection, PROMETHEE, TOPSIS, DSS
