Pakuan, PO Box 452, Bogor 16143 Email: sata_rahayu@unpak.ac.id ABSTRACT Forest play a crucial role as carbon absorbers and storage through the process of carbon sequestration, which helps reduce carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere and mitigates climat change. This study analyzes the potential of Pakansari Urban Forest, Bogor Regency, as a carbon sink. The method used include a 200-meters transect line with 5 observation plots measuring 20x20 meters each, as well as non-destructive sampling methods to measuring tree diameter and calculate carbon biomass using allometric equations. The study results show that the main tree species is Eucalyptus deglupta (leda) with 201 individuals and a total diameter of 2,966.66 cm. The estimated carbon biomass reaches 186,954.4 tons, with a carbon reserve of 93,477.2 tons and carbon absorption totaling 342,749.8 tons across an area of 2 hectares. These findings indicate the significant potential of urban forests in contributing to environmental mitigation. Keywords: Climate Change; Biomass; Carbon Stock; Carbon Sequestration
