abstract: ABSTRACT
This thesis analyzes the representation of homosexual 
adolescents in the study of the central characters. The 
method of analysis in this research is the study of 
representations in the novel We Contain Multitudes. The 
analytical method used in this research is a 
qualitative descriptive analysis method. The results 
showed that homosexuals sexuality were always 
represented as taboo and violated the norms in society, 
so that it was not uncommon for homosexuals to 
experience violence from the surrounding community, 
both verbal and physical violence. This condition shows 
that homosexuals are always on the side of the 
marginalized and oppressed.

Skripsi ini menganalisis tentang representasi 
remaja homoseksual kajian tokoh sentral. Metode 
analisis penelitian ini adalah kajian representasi 
dalam novel We Contain Multitudes. Metode analisis yang 
digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode analisis 
deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan 
bahwa seksualitas homoseksual selalu direpresentasikan 
sebagai sesuatu yang tabu dan melanggar norma di 
masyarakat, sehingga tidak jarang kaum homoseksual 
mendapatkan kekerasan dari masyarakat sekitarnya baik 
verbal maupun kekerasan fisik. Kondisi ini menunjukan 
bahwa kaum homoseksual selalu berada pada pihak yang 
termarjinalkan dan tertindas.
