Translators must have their own strategy in translating a kind of text. There are many strategies in translating a text, for example in translating a narrative text. Narrative is a type of text that has a purpose to entertain the reader. This research aims to find out the strategies used by the translators in translating a narrative text from Indonesian into English. This research was conducted at PT Sanhsiro Harapan Makmur. Descriptive method was used to this research, and the data were taken from document, interview with the translators, and interview with the reviewer. There were two translators and one reviewer who participated in this research. The result shows that there are five strategies used by the translators in translating the narrative text. Those strategies are modulation, transposition, addition, reduction, and cultural equivalent.
