This study falls into a form of literature, displays varieties of language use through figures of speech. These have concentrated on literary and some linguistic features, highlighting the relation of figuration in the works. However, this study have paid attention to thr role figurative language plays in foregrounding stylistic functions in the texts, which is very crucial for a comprehensive description and interpretation. This paper focuses on the question of “How is the students ability to interpret the simile in the poem William Wordsworth?”moreover, the method of data collection is descriptive qualitative, which tries to explain plainly about the students’ability to interpret the simile in the poem. It is conducted at Engslish Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training, Pakuan University. Purposive sampling is used to take the sample and 19 students are taken as the sample. Documentation, questionnaire, and interview are used to collect the data. Based on the data, 12 of participants are able to interpret the meaning of simile and there are 7 participants are not able to interpret the meaning.
