It can be used to communicate between them. The researcher is interested in conducting the research about it. The aim of this research is to investigate the correlation between students’ listening comprehension and their ability to respond direct questions. It was conducted to the seventh semester students of English Education Study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Sciences of Pakuan University. The population in this research is 94 students while 76 students were taken as the sample by using quota sampling technique. The students were asked to do two tests. The first test is the listening test which consists of 30 items. The second test is direct questions test based on the topics given. The researcher applied Ex Post Facto Design using Pearson Product Moment formula. The data were obtained from students’ listening comprehension test score and direct questions test score. The result of correlation coefficient value is 0.3807 which is higher than (0.2257) at the significant level of 0.05 and degree of freedom of 74. It means that the Alternative hypothesis is accepted. It shows that the correlation coefficient value of students’ listening comprehension and their ability to respond direct questions. is not significant because the gap between the correlation coefficient and the rtable is not too far. It can be concluded that the students’ who have ability in listening comprehension is not always able to respond direct questions.
