TY - THES PB - Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan AV - public N2 - ABSTRACT Reinforcement stands as a crucial element in facilitating the teaching and learning process, and it is necessary for the teachers to master it. Reinforcement is needed in the speaking class to maintain student?s positive behaviour and also to decrease student?s negative behaviour in learning process. The teacher must make sure that the reinforcement is given appropriately. This research employes descriptive qualitative method. It is also involved two teachers of SD Kreativa Bogor as the participants. The aims of this research are to find out the types of reinforcement, which are used by the teacher in teaching speaking and also to find out how the teacher applies reinforcement in teaching speaking. The instruments used are observation, interview, and questionnaire. Findings of this research describe the two teachers observed use positive reinforcement in verbal and non-verbal.
