"ABSTRACT\r\nThe paper entitled “Students' Grammatical Error in Writing Descriptive Text” is\r\naimed to find out the difficulties faced by the students in writing descriptive text.\r\nIn conducting this research, the researcher applies descriptive method to describe\r\nthe results of the research. The research was conducted at MTs Darul Al-\r\nMuhajirin. The participants were 30 students from class A at seven grade who\r\nhave learnt about descriptive text. The researcher uses purposive sampling in\r\nconducting this research and selects the students who had the difficulties in\r\nwriting descriptive text. The research data were obtained from three instruments:\r\ndocumentation, questionnaire and interviews. The researcher finds out there are\r\nthree types of difficulties that the students faced, namely: the limitation in\r\ngrammar, the limitation of generic structure, and also linguistic elements. She also\r\nfinds that the difficulty is caused by the lack of interest in reading that makes the\r\nstudents have limitation in three of them.\r\nKeywords: writing descriptive text, grammatical error, limitation of generic\r\nstructure."^^ .
