This study aimed to answer the research\r\nquestion: How was the Montessori Method implemented in teaching reading to\r\nyoung learners? This study explored Montessori reading activities, focusing on\r\nletter recognition, phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, and reading\r\ncomprehension. A qualitative approach was chosen for this study. The data\r\nwere collected through applying classroom observation and collecting\r\ndocumentation. The research was conducted at one private Montessori school\r\nin Bogor. This study involved two teachers and upper-preschool class students.\r\nThe findings showed that a phonics-based, multisensory approach supported\r\nchildren in learning to read independently. Teachers guided students through\r\nquestions and provided support, which helped them become more independent\r\nand aware of the sounds in words. The children engaged in reading activities\r\nduring their daily work cycle and chose tasks based on their interests and\r\nreadiness. The prepared environment supported this routine and encouraged\r\nindependence and focus. This study concludes that the Montessori Method was\r\nimplemented in teaching reading through phonics-based and multisensory\r\nactivities supported by teachers' guidance and a prepared environment.\r\nKeywords: Montessori method, teaching reading, English to young learners"^^xsd:string;
