"abstract": "Listening is one of the most essential yet challenging skill in language learning,\r\nespecially for junior high school students. This study aims to investigate the\r\neffectiveness of the Cake application on students' listening comprehension. A\r\nquasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was\r\nconducted at SMPN 6 Bogor. The study involved 70 eighth-grade students, divided\r\ninto two groups: the experimental group used Cake application, while the control\r\ngroup used YouTube. The pre-tests and post-tests used to collect the data consisted\r\nof 30 multiple-choice listening comprehension questions. These results suggest that\r\nstructured, interactive mobile applications like Cake can provide more effective\r\nsupport for students' listening comprehension than unstructured platforms like\r\nYouTube. This study concludes that digital applications in interactive and\r\nstructured language teaching such as Cake can give a significant impact on\r\nstudents’ listening comprehension.\r\nKeywords: Listening Comprehension, Cake Application, YouTube Application,\r\nJunior High School",
