%T Role Play Technique For Speaking Activities
%X Role-play activity is one of the classroom teaching techniques that encourages
students to participate actively in the process of learning English. The aim of this
research to find out how roleplay is implemented for speaking activities. The
participants was one English teacher at SMA Citra Nusa Bogor. The researcher used
qualitative research with classroom observation and interview to gain the data that
were required to know about how roleplay is implemented for speaking activities.
The finding reveals that teacher has implemented basic stages in preparation , such
as determining topics and dividing groups systematically. In the implementation of
roleplay strategies applied by teachers include structured group division, assistance
during practice, providing examples of expressions and intonation, and vocabulary.
Therefore, according to the result of both observation and interview,it is concluded
that the teacher has implemented roleplay consisting of done the preparation,
strategies and implementation of roleplay and the teacher provide direct feedback
to students verbally.
