ABSTRACK
Sorghum is a cereal plant that has a calorie content that is almost equivalent to rice
and corn and a higher protein content than rice, therefore in Indonesia sorghum is one
of the commodities that can be expected to be an alternative food to reduce national
rice demand. This study aims to determine the F3 generation sorghum from the
crossing of bioguma and gando keta varieties of Light Yellow color characters that
have good quality characteristics. The results showed that sample 3 had the best
characteristics and quality with a moisture content of 13.21%, ash content of 1.06%,
protein content of 10.62%, fat content of 4.50%, carbohydrate content of 70.61%,
amylose content of 15.47%, starch content of 56.25% and tannin content of 0.52%. The
results obtained refer that the crossing of sorghum varieties of bioguma and gando keta
was successful because the quality results obtained showed better results than their
parents.
