Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial factor in the learning process to get excellent graduates. Teachers with high performance have accuracy in carrying out work, maximizing time to achieve learning targets, using organizational resources optimally, and adjusting work plans with work outcomes. Unfortunately, our preliminary research finds that teachers' performance was not as expected. The research objectives are to find efforts to improve teacher performance by designing action plans to develop weak indicators as a result of the SITOREM analysis on managerial roles effectivity, organizational culture, and interpersonal communication. The population is all teachers from an "A" accredited Junior Public Schools in South Tangerang. Multistage proportional random sampling and Slovin formula is used to take 200 samples from 11 schools spread in 7 districts. This research uses correlational research methods to assess the strength of the relationship between research variables and SITOREM analysis to analyze correlational research results in more detail on indicators of research variables and to find indicators that need to be improved and maintained or developed. The results show that all variables have a significant positive correlation with teacher performance, in order based on the strength of the correlation as follow: Organizational culture (ry2= 0.804, ρ<0.01), managerial role effectivity (ry1= 0.603, ρ<0.01), and interpersonal communication (ry3= 0.447, ρ<0.01). When all variables treat together, the correlation coefficient is ry123=0.853 (ρ<0.01). The results of the SITOREM analysis show that the indicators of teacher performance, managerial role effectivity, organizational culture, and interpersonal communication that require to be improved are: 1) productivity, 2) effectivity, 3) efficiency, 4) entrepreneur, 5) resources allocator, 6) monitor, 7) mediator, 8)philosophy, 9) stories, 10) assumptions, 11) values, 12) symbols, 13) positiveness, 14) empathy, and 15) feedback.
