Abstract

The research entitled “Students’ Errors in Constructing Passive Voice” is aimed to identify the students’ errors and find out the causes why the students make such errors. It is conducted to the students who are writing first chapter of skripsi at English Education Study Program Faculty of Teachers Training and Educational Sciences of Pakuan University. Descriptive method is used to conduct the research. The writer uses purposive sampling by taking the students who are writing first chapter of Skripsi. The data are taken from students’ proposal draft, questionnaire and interview note. The findings show that most of participants make errors in misinformation and misordering is the least frequently occur. It also shows that the errors that students make are mostly caused by the first language interference and the least occuring cause is translation. Keywords: errors, passive voice, skripsi
