Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper is entitled “Learning Materials for Students’ Self-Directed Learning in an Online ELT Course Program.” The research has two purposes, which are to describe the types of learning materials for students’ Self-Directed Learning used in an ELT course program. Also, the extents of the learning materials for students’ Self-directed learning empower students to execute 21st-century skills over the learning activities. This research involved descriptive qualitative research with a case study design. Then, it applied to ELESP, Pakuan University. The participants were students from 6A class. This research identified the learning materials for students’ self-directed learning used in an ELT course program, such as spoken lecture, digital course module, and backchanneling. Those learning materials empowered students to execute the 21st-century skills, such as students being aware of online learning and analysis, communicating creatively and being informative, and discovering the solution. Furthermore, those learning materials that integrated SDL empowered students to execute 21st-century skills, including awareness on global issues, communicative skills, and problem-solving skills.
