Abstract

The research entitled “English Communication Needed by Students’ Majoring in Animation Department” is aimed to investigate English communication that students of Animation department need to support their study. The research focuses on the English personal communication needed by students of Animation department that will support their study. The writer applied descriptive method in conducting the research. She conducted the research at SMK Negeri 1 Ciomas and took the Students of animation department, English teacher and Alumni of Animation Department as the participants. Purposive sampling is used by the writer in conducting the research. She found that the English communication mostly needed are speaking and writing. English materials for speaking and writing skills includes animation project, scheduling an appointment, negotiating an order, complaining and explaining. Then, for language components the students need vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar. The vocabulary and pronunciation are related to the English terms of animation in business world for example in animation project, scheduling an appointment, negotiating an order, complaining and explaining. Furthermore, the students also need grammar and they have to learn more about simple present, past and future
