ABSTRACT Infection is a health condition that often occurs in daily activity and can causes serious problem if it is not handled soon. One of the effect of infection that is bacteria microorganism such as Staphylococcus epidermidis. Senduduk bulu leaves (Clidemia hirta L) contain secondary metabolite compound that can have potential as antibacterial, so it can be formulates became a medicinal preparation like ointment which can be used for external infection treatment. This research aims to obtain the ointment preparations from ethanol extract of senduduk bulu leaves (Clidemia hirta L.) that have a good quality and actibacterial activity. The ointment preparation was made with 4 formulas with different concentrations of extract such as formula 1 (9%), formula 2 (10%), formula 3 (11%), and formula 4 (12%) afterwards it is conducted antibacterial activity test againts Staphylococcus epidermidis with sumuran method. The result of the research shows that the ointment from each formulas have a good quality and own antibacterial activity of Staphylococcus epidermidis. Formula 3 (11%) and formula 4 (12%) have the highest antibacterial activity sequentially with the width of resistance (LDH) there are 6,287 mm and 7,687 mm than the formula 1, 2 and positive control (gentamicin sulfate 0,1%) in resisting bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis. Key word : The Ointment, Senduduk Bulu Leaves, Staphylococcus epidermidis
