Abstract

PENENTUAN KADAR FLAVONOID HASIL EKSTRAKSI METODE MASERASI DAN MICROWAVE ASSISTED EXTRACTION (MAE) PADA LIMBAH SABUT KELAPA (Cocos nucifera L.) *Bina Lohita Sari, Usep Suhendar, Muhammad Akmal Taufik 1Program Studi Farmasi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Pakuan Bogor Info Article ABSTRAK Submitted : Limbah sabut kelapa (Cocos nucifera L.) banyak digunakan untuk diolah menjadi cocofiber dan cocofeat. Khasiat empiris sabut kelapa digunakan sebagai pembersih gigi oleh masyarakat Baduy dan hasil uji farmakologi dari ekstrak etanol sabut kelapa terhadap tikus menunjukkan adanya aktivitas antidiabetes. Sabut kelapa dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku obat karena mengandung metabolit sekunder diantaranya tanin, flavonoid dan polifenol. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membandingkan kadar flavonoid dari esktrak etanol 70% sabut kelapa yang diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dan Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE). Penetapan kadar flavonoid menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan pereaksi aluminium klorida 10%. Hasil penetapan kadar flavonoid ekstrak etanol sabut kelapa menunjukkan bahwa kadar flavonoid dengan metode MAE ialah 3,43 ± 0,09% lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan metode maserasi 2,72 ± 0,07%. Metode MAE dapat mengekstraksi kandungan flavonoid ekstrak etanol 70% limbah sabut kelapa lebih banyak dibandingkan metode maserasi. The empirical efficacy of coconut coir is also used as a tooth cleaner by the Baduy people and the results of pharmacological tests of the ethanol extract of coconut coir on rats showed an antidiabetic activity. Coconut coir can be used as a medicinal raw material because it contains various secondary metabolites including tannins, flavonoids and polyphenols. The aim of this study was to compare the flavonoid levels of 70% ethanol extract of coconut coir extracted using the maceration and Microwave Assisted Extraction (MAE) methods. Determination of flavonoid levels using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with the 10% AlCl3 method. The results of determining the flavonoid content of coconut coir ethanol extract showed that the flavonoid content using the MAE method was 3.4252% ± 0.085 higher than the maceration method which was 2.7175% ± 0.071. The MAE method can extract more flavonoid content in 70% of coconut coir waste than the maceration method. Keywords: coconut coir, maceration, flavonoids, MAE (Microwave Assisted Extraction)
