Abstract

This study aims to determine efforts to improve lecturer performance through a review of the direct and indirect effects between transformational leadership variables, Interpersonal Communication, and Work Motivation. The selected sample of 200 people in proportional random sampling with the Slovin formula. This research uses survey method with path analysis approach followed by Sitorem analysis. The results of this study concluded that: (1) There is a positive influence on transformational leadership on the performance of lecturers with a value of Pvt = 0.441., (2) There is a positive influence on interpersonal communication on lecturer performance with a value ofpy2 = 0.304, (3) There is a positive influence on work motivation towards lecturer performance with a value ofpy3 = 0.164. (4) There is a positive influence of transformational leadership on the work motivation of lecturers with a value of P31 = 0.516, (5) There is a positive influence of interpersonal communication on the work motivation of lecturers with a value of P32 = 0.323, (6) There is an influence positive transformational leadership on lecturer work motivation with P21 = 0.746, (7) There is a positive indirect effect on transformational leadership on lecturer performance through work motivation with a value of direct influence (0.194) higher than the value of indirect influence (0.085) then transformational leadership has an effect not directly significant to kine Lecturer rank through work motivation, (8) There is a positive indirect effect of interpersonal communication on lecturer performance through work motivation with a value of direct influence (0.092) higher than the value of indirect effect (0.053), so interpersonal communication has a significant indirect effect on lecturer performance through work motivation.
