Abstract

In learning English there are several media that can be used by teacher and students to enrich their vocabulary. One of them is through a movie. By watching the movie, students are easy to remember vocabulary. This research is conducted to find out the effect of watching Animal Planet TV Program on students’ vocabulary knowledge. This research is conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Sukabumi. Pre�experimental with one group pre-test post-test are used to conduct the research. In this research, purposive sampling is used to take 34 students as the sample. Several steps are done to analyze the data and formula of t-test formula is used to get the final result. Based on the data calculation, the t-test value is 5.27. The result of t�calculated and t-table with d.f = 34 at significant level 0.01 is 2.73 and significant level of 0.05 is 2.03. It shows that t-calculated is higher than t-table (2.73<5.27>2.03). So, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an effect of watching Animal Planet TV Program on students’ vocabulary knowledge.
